Johnny Hernandez – La Gloria

Hernandez’s culinary endeavors began at a young age inside the San Antonio kitchen of Johnny’s Cafeteria and Catering Co., the family business where he and his siblings assisted with food preparations and serving.  After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in 1989, Hernandez worked with some of the world’s top resorts until he founded True Flavors Culinary Planners with his siblings in 1995. Recently, Hernandez was selected to join the National Pork Board’s Celebrated Chefs program, an honor only bestowed to four other national cooks per year for their culinary excellence.  Hernandez is also a driving force in his community taking part in many charitable causes throughout San Antonio.
