Banquet Chef Bryce Murphee oversees all culinary aspects of banquet operation for the historic 338-room Omni La Mansión del Rio, situated along the world-renowned River Walk in San Antonio, Texas. He also assists Executive Chef John Brand with menu development and implementation for Las Canarias, the AAA Four Diamond hotel’s fine dining restaurant. Murphee’s cuisine celebrates locally sourced all-natural ingredients and presents them with innovative flair. He was appointed to his present position in October 2008. Murphee has more than a dozen years of experience in the culinary world and began his career in Colorado at the Aspen Ski Company where he held several positions, including Banquet Chef at the Little Nell and Club Executive Chef of the Aspen Mountain Club, the prestigious private members club. He also served as Chef de Cuisine at the Crescent Club, an exclusive club and outlet restaurant of the Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas. His most recent position was Executive Chef of Lakeway Resort and Spa in Austin, Texas, where he was in charge of all culinary aspects of the acclaimed hotel, including banquets, room service, á la carte, bar and wine bar and private dining. Murphee oversaw all menu design, development and rollouts. He was prominently featured twice in the Austin American-Statesman and also performed cooking demonstrations for Fox 7 News in Austin.
